LAURIE YOSHIHARA

Principal

Mrs. Yoshihara is passionate about helping people to see that Jesus is on their side every day. A graduate from Washington State University with a degree in General Studies Physical Sciences and a math supporting endorsement, she later went on to earn a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University in 2016.

Mrs. Yoshi, which many of her students call her, began her teaching career in January 2003. With 20+ years of teaching experience, she is excited to become principal at PSAA/KSDA. "I love seeing the light bulb moment when a student really understands. I love helping students to develop their potential and learn how to be the best version of themselves," she states.

In her spare time, she enjoy knitting, crocheting, cross-stitch, running, hiking, camping, and playing board games. "I cherish time with my family, which includes my daughter Kat, a PSAA graduate of 2023, and my son Caleb, a senior this year," she goes on to say.

She jokes that she is an American melting pot of cultures: over half Irish, fluent in Spanish, with a Japanese last name.  She has even used accents in the classroom to engage students.

As principal, her goals and objectives are to ensure students feel loved by Jesus and by the staff, make smart financial decisions, and run the schools efficiently.

"I look forward to seeing what I can do to help KSDA and PSAA continue to be great schools."
